Auto Fasteners are delighted to extend our relationship with the Lear Corporation and in turn Jaguar Land Rover with a new contract. The contract is for the supply of specialist seat frame components for the new Jaguar XF Sportbrake X260 program, due to be launched in 2017. The components will be supplied by Auto-Fasteners to Lear’s production plant in Slovakia for assembly into the new seats before being shipped back to JLR production plants in the UK.
It is anticipated that the new replacement for the current Jaguar XF Sportbrake will be launched at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show with vehicles going on sale shortly after.
The current XF Sportbrake has been a big success for JLR in what was previously a market sector they had not been strong in. With sleek styling and stunning good looks the XF Sportbrake has retained the Jaguar reputation for building highly desirable cars.
Automotive seats are now amongst the most sophisticated fixtures in a modern car. Balancing stylish good looks with driver comfort and safety requires highly specialised design and production skills.
Lear Corporation lead the world in these skills and they produce seats for every major vehicle manufacturer across the globe.
Auto-Fasteners are supplying Lear with bespoke components for other OEM platforms such as the new Audi R8 Spyder and others.
The Lear Corporation Seating production plant in Voderady Slovakia opened in early 2016.
